The Story So Far…

Alright so get this:

1) Now Jesus was this dude who supposedly could’ve fried your existence with just a look. Supposedly he was God incarnate with the powers over existence at his fingertips.

Yet, despite his capacity to have some kinda “cosmic temper tantrum” resulting in the complete erasure of those who would choose to condemn him to death in the most heinous of fashions, Jesus chose to do something beyond the general barbarism of his times, thus altering and influencing the course of human events for millennia to come.

To put it bluntly: Instead of calling upon his brand of “superpowers” to free and avenge himself against his captors, (According to his followers, he was more than capable of doing this.) Jesus chose to be humiliated, tortured, and crucified, serving as a beacon for a brand of peace, courage and tolerance which strived to reach beyond the limited significance of our menial, temporary, and relatively short physical existence.

Fast-forward to today:

2) So the birthplace of this “Prince of Peace” is now besieged from within by desperate frightened men, wielding Kalashnikov rifles, and it is surrounded by vengeful tanks and snipers, determined to spill the blood of occupants of this holiest of holy maternity wards. In other words, guns, intolerance, and ignorance now surround and occupy the birthplace of one of the most- if not the most influential figures of all time (Our very system of time is based upon how many years have passed since his birth.), whose message of peace and tolerance could be the only thing to carry us into a future of coexistence. (The guy must’ve been an alien.)

EVEN IF YOU’RE NOT VERY RELIGIOUS, OR EVEN ATHEIST, FOR THAT MATTER, THE SYMBOLISM CAN’T ESCAPE YOU!

Meanwhile the United States is governed by a president who, despite his willingness and even enthusiasm to put people to death in a variety of forms, openly proclaims Jesus as his “hero” or his primary influence; while in greater and greater numbers, Americans mindlessly race towards the gas pumps to fill their behemoth SUV’s.

WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?!

More to Come?
