The Control

The Forgotten E.P.

Go Kart

Four songs, six minutes. Way to go, you young aggressive hardcore kids, you. Painful bursts of in your face punk delivered in an intense, pumping manner are the marks of this fine release from the hugely promising Control. This is their third short-length release, with a full album hopefully coming out before too long. The Control’s cool and effective tempo shifts never get in the way of the fist-in-the-air, call-to-arms quality of the songs on here, with “To My Love” being a particularly fine example of just that. And if the lyrics – rather cute love songs, actually – somehow fail to match the aggression of the music on here, it’s because this is outreaching, warm-hearted hardcore. So there. Good stuff.
