Bantam's Don't Be's

Don’t Be Filling Our Heads

I’ve been watching a lot of television lately and I’ve noticed something odd being reported to me by the news. Basically what I’m hearing is that the United States armed forces and police forces are filled with a bunch of bumbling featherbrains who can’t accomplish shit. I don’t necessarily believe this myself, but the news has a way of twisting things, doesn’t it? I mean, you’ve got to be kidding me, we really can’t find Osama bin Laden or Saddam? What about this asshole in Virginia with a sniper rifle and hatred for people pumping gas and walking in parking lots? We can’t do anything about that either? What the hell is really going on?

I heard that technology allowing people to read a license plate from space exists. I heard this on the news, of course, so I don’t know if it’s true. I don’t think that it’s that far of a stretch because I’ve seen photographs taken from space before, and I imagine with a large enough telescopic lens, why not? I wonder why it is then that we can’t find a man with a towel on his head in a fucking desert. Which one of the stories isn’t real? Have we found him and can’t tell or is there no such thing as this amazing technology? What I’m saying is that I’m getting tired of all of this misleading information.

We, as Americans, are expected to keep up with current events and know what is going on in the world; but how can we do this when we are being lied to all of the time? I’m not necessarily saying that it is simply the news media that is doing all of the lying. They probably get fed false information too. But I want the truth. If it’s my money that is being used to do things in this country and overseas then I’d like to know exactly how. Don’t be filling our heads with bullshit; let us know just how things really are. Then listen to how we think things should be done. The news says that war is expensive. I believe that. I also think it costs money to put people in jail. Why not let up on the piddly shit like pot smokers and put that extra money towards war instead of raising taxes or grabbing money from stocks and ruining people. These are desperate times here, aren’t they? Shouldn’t we be putting out the message that America is not the country to be messing with? That fucking sniper in Virginia should be a firecracker in a metal chair by now. This person is inside the country and they are getting away with murder. If we can’t find one bastard in our own backyard, how are we supposed to believe that we can find two of them overseas? What is our money really being spent on? Where are the results? I mean, really when you think about it, what fucking war? The news wants me to believe that we are spending millions of dollars to get things accomplished over there, but there really hasn’t been any results. Do they actually want us to think that our troops are so incompetent that they can’t win this thing? I don’t believe that at all. Are the police officers in Virginia a bunch of imbciles? From what I’ve seen it looks that way.

I hate to go on like this, I’m really not a political person at all. What really bothers me is the sensless killing. All of those people that died on Sept 11th died simply because they lived in America. And these people dying in Washington and Virginia didn’t do anything but carry on with their daily lives. Why can’t anything be done about this? I might have to go to war and die for this country one day and I don’t know if I believe that strongly in it. I don’t trust that we are smart enough to win another war. Our president had his father swindle his way into the White House. Our previous president was a manwhore. N.Y. city got its pants pulled down last year. Some asshole with a gun is mocking the police this year and we are still concerned about speeders and potsmokers. If only someone could tell me what is really going on.
