I like Frank Rich
All the same, I’m probably glad I’ll never have to have a play reviewed by him. But this article (NY Times registration required),which previews HBO’s upcoming adaptation of the acclaimed Angels In America play trilogy and compares it to the smothered Reagans mini-series, is well worth reading. It reminds us of things we should not forget–more people died of AIDS than in the Korean or Vietnam wars–and puts things in historical context.
As we know, we’re living in a time when it seems more people than ever are trying to supress truths and people who try to stand up and say “Excuse me–that’s not the way I saw it and I was there” are pushed to one side. Is that ever going to change?
