“Cool Sparkling Water” Video Preview TODAY

Streaming everywhere Friday, Lonnie Walker’s “Cool Sparkling Water” is exactly what plants crave. Today, Ink 19 readers get an early look at the trippy performance video.

Ancient tasting, so hydrating, cool sparkling water… No more lies and no surprises, cool sparkling water…”

The song was partly inspired by another liquid tune recorded by the Sons of the Pioneers in 1941, “Cool Water,” a fever dream of thirst.

He’s yearning for, Just one thing more than water, Cool water. Like me, I guess, he’d like to rest, Where there’s no quest for water, Cool, clear water.” (Bob Nolan, 1936)

Corum “tried to follow along lyrically” with Nolan’s song while “addressing the basic need of water as foundation for consciousness and everything else.”

The Raleigh, North Carolina band’s album Easy Easy Easy Easy is a return to recording and performing after songwriter Brian Corum’s opioid addiction and recovery.

Playing on “Cool Water” are Brian Corum (bass, vocals, guitar), Eric Hill (“GUT-tar”), Michael Robinson (“GEE-tar”), Raymond Finn (drums) and Kate Rhudy (fiddle).

Find Easy Easy Easy Easy — that’s four Easies — on Sleepy Cat Records July 12, 2024.
