Brought to you by…
Most of you who know me at all know that The West Wing was one of my favorite shows. Ink 19 publisher/editor Ian Koss willing, a lengthy piece on the series will be up soon.
For now suffice it to say it’s one of only two works from the arts that I am prepared to say “if you don’t like it, there’s something wrong with you” about. (The other is the music of Joe Jackson–and even there I make an exception in the case of the Night & Day 2 album). Until creator/writer Aaron Sorkin was either relieved of his duties or resigned (depending on who you believe) I consider it to have been, simply put, the greatest dramatic series ever created for television.
So why am I telling you all this? I’m telling you all this because I know one or two of you never started watching the show in its original run. And I want you to have a chance to correct that crass mistake. This Monday, February 23rd, Bravo is going to start its cycle of reruns of the shows first four seasons anew, starting with the pilot, at seven and 11 PM. Some shows take a few episodes to find their stride, hell Joss Whedon claims Angel was only hitting it after four years (plus three on Buffy). The West Wing was not one of those shows. If you watch the pilot, you will see a series hitting the ground running.
This has been an unpaid commercial announcement.
