Jesus Christ, It’s Their Default Response
OK..you all remember when the Bush administration responded to Joseph Wilson’s criticisms by outing his wife as an undercover CIA operative? The investigation into that continues, and people who are in a better position than I to know think it could blow up into an even bigger scandal.
Well, guess what? They’re at it again. According to The New York Times…
“U.S. officials providing justification for anti-terrorism alerts revealed details about a Pakistani secret agent, and confirmed his name while he was working under cover in a sting operation, Pakistani sources said on Friday.”
I know I’ve said this before, but I continue to believe that it’s true: Huge parts of this are about the fact that George W. Bush hates the intelligence community for which his dad used to work. That’s why he keeps shooting them in the foot. And that’s why we’ll never have a succesful “war on terror,” while he’s in charge.
