The Sound of the Crowd

Short And To The Point…If Only

Josh Marshall muses on the need for Kerry to come up with a short, pithy catch-phrase to counter Bush’s “extremely lame, but also somewhat effective line that the world is safer with Saddam Hussein out of power.”

What’s wrong with three simple words: No, it isn’t.

What is wrong with our stupid fucking candidate, our stupid fucking parties, our stupid fucking system, that just, to paraphrase Spencer Tracy, standing on the balls of your feet and telling the fucking truth doesn’t seem to be a viable option anymore?

ETA: Or, what Robert Scheer says. Keeping with my little show business metaphors, I keep wishing Sean Connery would sit down next to Kerry and say, a la The Untouchables,

“You wanna get Bush? Well, here’s how you get him. He pulls a knife, you pull a gun. He puts one of yours in the hospital, you put one of his in the morgue…”
