Everybody watch the speech?
Me either. Had reality to enjoy, instead.

Veterans Affairs coping with $1 billion shortfall as demand for services grows
By Leo Shane III, Stars and Stripes
Mideast edition, Wednesday, June 29, 2005
WASHINGTON – Facing a $1 billion deficit in this year’s budget, Department of Veterans Affairs officials will raid operations and maintenance accounts to help pay for veterans’ basic medical care.
Oh yeah, support those troops. Attaboy, fearless leader.
Or this from the WSJ:
Bush admin “stopped the military from attacking” Zarqawi before the start of the Iraq war
[Retired] Gen. [John M.] Keane [then-U.S. Army vice chief of staff] characterized the [Zarqawi’s] camp “as one of the best targets we ever had,” and questioned the decision not to attack it.
Yup, the supposed mastermind behind the insurgents was able to be captured, but Bush held off, since it would remove a large reason for the war in Iraq.
The unofficial war: U.S., Britain led massive secret bombing campaign before Iraq war was declared
Larisa Alexandrovna and John Byrne
A U.S. general who commanded the U.S. allied air forces in Iraq has confirmed that the U.S. and Britain conducted a massive secret bombing campaign before the U.S. actually declared war on Iraq.
Ah yes, who can forget the hundreds of illegal bombs dropped BEFORE the “start” of the war in Iraq.
Who can forget? Evidently our president, our media, and about half of our fellow citizens. Shameful.
