One More Autumn

One More Autumn is a steady, if unspectacular folk-pop debut from former music student, Carrie Cheron.

There’s no denying that Cheron has a terrific, expressive voice, but the quality of her delivery is not always matched by the consistency of the material. If the majority of the songs on One More Autumn were as strong as “Untitled Song About Being Alone,” I would probably run out of superlatives to describe them. As it is, the moments of excellence, such as “Autumn” and “There Will Be Love” are hindered by the slow tempo of some of the other material.

However, Cheron is clearly a talented performer and her voice is an undoubted selling point. If she can develop her material in between her debut and her sophomore record, she would surely be an artist to be reckoned with.
