Truth to Power

When you have to lie to make your point…

you have no point to make:

Congresswoman Slaughter calls on ABC to run disclaimers during its 9/11 docudrama

The Ranking Member of the House Rules Committee, New York Democratic Congresswoman Louise M. Slaughter, called on ABC to run disclaimers during its upcoming two-night broadcast of the docudrama The Path to 9/11, which many liberal bloggers have preemptively criticized for inaccurately blaming President Clinton and praising President Bush for “everything related” to the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

“ABC has a responsibility to make clear that this film is not a documentary, and does not represent an official account of the facts surrounding the September 11th attacks,” Rep. Slaughter said in a statement released earlier today on her House member website.</i>

ABC is running a two hour lap dance for the Republican Party blaming Clinton for 9.11, just in time for the mid term elections in November. It invents episodes out of the air that never happened, and ignores the fact that Clinton wanted to spend over a billion dollars on anti-terrorism efforts, but was rebuffed by the republican congress, who just yelled “wag the dog” loud and long enough to get people worked up about goo on a blue dress.

I didn’t realize that Leni Riefenstahl was still making movies.

“When you have to-X062”

This is a far greater offense than the New York Times sitting on the Bush illegal wiretapping story prior to the 2004 elections. This is a hack group of extreme right-wing operatives who consider the deaths of 3000 of their citizens a trivial matter, not worthy of serious discussion…or the truth. They consider terrorism a joke (taking the lead from their king) and ABC and Disney (who is pimping this piece of libelous trash via the Scholastic Book line to kids) play right along, all hail the emperor. Don’t his new clothes look fine?

Shameful. How these people stand the sight of their face in the mirror is beyond my understanding. People will die because you lie.
