Still Live

King Mouse

Huge in Pittsburgh yet virtually unknown elsewhere, The Clarks’ popularity is off the scale in their home city and the Still Live CD and accompanying DVD is testament to that.

Recorded over four nights at Pittsburgh’s Mr. Small’s Theatre, the set updates the band’s previous live release Live with newer material from their most recent albums and showcases the chemistry, energy and musical talent that uniquely defines The Clarks.

Scott Blasey’s powerful voice and melodic songwriting blend effortlessly with Greg Joseph and Dave Minarik’s thumping rhythm section and Rob James’ flawless guitar work to provide the base for live favourites such as opener “Better Off Without You,” “Maybe,” “Shimmy Low” and “Boys Lie.” Joseph takes over on vocals for the up-tempo “Butterflies and Airplanes” and the four piece’s trademark blue-collar rock is brilliantly captured in the infectious “Nothing’s Wrong Nothing’s Right” and “Rise and Fall”. The fact that older, established live favorites are not performed on the CD and are hardly missed speaks volumes about the quality of the band’s recent catalog, but “Penny On The Floor” and “Cigarette” are included on the separately-available DVD as well as a few extra tracks and an in-depth documentary charting a career that has seen the band sell over 250,000 records.

The Still Live CD and DVD prove what everyone in Pittsburgh already knows and what everyone else is missing out on; that The Clarks really are a superb live act.
