For four years, Vice President Dick Cheney has resisted routine oversight of his office’s handling of classified information, and when the National Archives unit that monitors classification in the executive branch objected, the vice president’s office suggested abolishing the oversight unit, according to documents released yesterday by a Democratic congressman.
Gee Dick, that’s not playing fair. You dick.

Other officials familiar with Mr. Cheney’s view said that he and his legal adviser, David S. Addington, did not believe that the executive order applied to the vice president’s office because it had a legislative as well as an executive status in the Constitution. Other White House offices, including the National Security Council, routinely comply with the oversight requirements, according to Mr. Waxman’s office and outside experts.
Cheney is now claiming that the office of the VP is not in the Executive Branch, hence, not subject to the law regarding records and their access by Congress.
Ok, I know we’ve kidded ya a lot around here, Shotgun Cheney, but lets get real a moment. The law is not whatever you want it to be at any given moment, and stating absurd blather that is supposed to sound all legal and shit might fool the average serf, but those of us who’ve actually read history and stuff? We know better. Now, its understood that you have attempted – hell, largely suceeded in- creating an opaque presidency, removed from oversight, legality, and questioning, and sad to say, you might actually run out the clock before they drag you, snarling and cursing, into the Grand Jury room. But the damage you have done, here and abroad, will befoul our times like no other before you.
Since you won’t subject yourself to the processes that WE THE PEOPLE (catchy phrase, look it up) have created and died to defend, I hope you stand near a microwave real soon.
