Joy Ride

Joy Ride

By Chase Padgett and Stacey Hello

Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival, Pink Venue</strong>

Everything Chase Padgett touches seems to turn to gold. This is a long form improv show with minimal audience input, and tonight the secret word is “aardvark”. Skits flow from this Officially Funny Word, and since this is improv it will never be the same again. But highlights include new euphemisms for the girly bits: “Hippo Yawn” “Front Bottom” and “My down there”. Those actually came from scene partners Stacy Hello (I hope I got that right), Mr. Padgett was at his best in the ribbon dancing Olympics and the Aardvark obsessed man, he also played an old farmer stumbling through an organic rutabaga advertisement. Gramps flubbed banjo picking, pop, and smooth jazz audio beds, but nailed it in the rap sequence. There’s plenty of improv around this week, and this might well be on the top shows in the genre.

This production is part of the 2014 Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival. Information on tickets and show times may be found at http://OrlandoFringe.org/
