Brown Venue

Orlando Fringe Festival

Loch Haven Park, Orlando, FL</strong>

I got yer one man poetry slam right here. Mr. Rolls (real name far as I can tell) returns from Surry, UK with a grasp of poetic meter that took years of work develop. His poems are part story; part political lecture and part comedy act and while words may be hard to decipher his meter are so strong it blasts you through any confusion. Highlights are a hitchhiking horror story: “I figured he MUST have done this before, so I decide to smile at him”, a brief history of British military might that consisted of endless mantra of “We won!” surrounding a weirdly logical explanation of why the American Revolution does not violate that mantra, and a description of Ego Tourism: “Out of the way! Out of the way! Out of the way!” Jem provides endless fun laced with Anglo-centric cynicism. This guy is a blast.

This show was part of the 2015 Orlando Fringe Festival. Information on tickets and times may be found at www.OrlandoFringe.org.
