Nala Sinephro

Space 1.8

Warp Records

Nala Sinephro is a unique performer in several ways. She is a composer and producer who stakes out modular synthesizer and concert harp as her chosen instruments. Where other composers build their compositions around rhythms or chord changes, Nala is concerned with frequencies and how they interact with the human body. Her aim is to create an emersive, synesthetic universe where listeners are enveloped in the healing frequencies she creates.

Space 1.8 is a collection of eight compositions that embrace jazz melodies and ambient textures. Sinephro describes each piece as a sonic womb. The songs work best for me as active soundscapes. They are conductive to meditation and relazation like a chill out room on Sun Ra’s Rocket #9.
