Erin McKeown

Distillation

TVP

Just when you think you’ve heard it all, and there are no original voices in folk music, along comes Distillation, from New England singer/songwriter Erin McKeown. With a sound and style rooted in the days of prohibition, McKeown still manages a rather modern, sophisticated, sound that hearkens back to a classier era. I have to admit that words fail me on this record, save for the fact that this is one of the most intriguing records I’ve heard in quite a while, and listening to it just makes me yearn for Erin McKeown’s next record.
