Mad Caddies

Just One More

Fat Wreck Chords

Not only ridiculously entertaining, Just One More is also laced with enough musical drama and theatrical abandon to outlast other bands, other genres and even, a whole lifetime and beyond. “Drinking for 11” is a guilt-ridden tribute to, err, drinking, delivered in a breezy summer-ska fashion, while “Villains” is a generous slab of carnivalesque punk rock. “Leavin” injects a healthy dose of ragtime to its Irish folk punk body, and the title track’s cabaret ska suddenly goes all Latin pop.

On their fifth album, seven-piece ska-punkers Mad Caddies deliver a set of genre-bending punk that is as hilarious as it is beautiful. Sadness is offset by moments of Madness, whimsical cabaret jazz by hard street punk. An overabundance of ideas and playful exploration make Just One More one of the most unpredictable and fun albums you’ve heard in a long, long while. It’s also an album of beauty and pride, celebrating the individuality of punk, ska and of sticking it out. Just One More is guaranteed to slap a huge grin on your face, and it’ll grow with each new listen too. What more could you want?
