Gentle and soothing, Club 8 seem to ease into your ears like a bather into a hot Jacuzzi. Slowly and gently, Karolina Komstedt’s Scandinavianly pure voice lowers itself into your mind, as a frothy mass of synthetic and organic instruments (mostly played by Johan Angergard) fizzily floats to the surface. Like a good long soak, Club 8 is something you just have to have every once in a while. Fans of the Magnetic Fields and other retro-synth bands will find plenty to meditate on, as will those who find pleasure in the Sundays’ ethereal pop.
