With two members of Vancouver pop-darlings Cub, Buck fulfill many of the needs of the latter band’s fans, though I can’t really say the sound just the same. Fast and fuzzy, sweet in melody but not always in lyric, Buck is a great fun listen, and hard as I may try to separate Lisa G. and Lisa Marr from their previous life, the two bands are just too close to make it possible. I’ll end things here, with a final name-check: Isn’t Buck simply “Cub” backwards? Buck, P.O. Box 292407, Los Angeles, CA 90029; Sympathy For The Record Industry, 4450 N.
