The Wash

The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Aftermath / Doggystyle / Interscope

It’s a 1-8-7 on an undercover cop.” When we first heard those words almost ten years ago from the neo-pimpster Slick Rick cadence of a spidery-skinny kid in an LBC baseball cap, we knew we were listening to a star. Little did we know that this kid was the wunderkind Snoop Doggy Dogg or the G-Funk multi-platinum industry he and Dr. Dre were going to build in the next decade.

Now, in the Hollywood that will go through the time and expense of making a movie to sell a soundtrack, it was only a matter of time before this super rapper/producer team would star in a movie together. Fortunately, I don’t have to comment on that project. The soundtrack, though, is worth a listen. For the millions of minions who love that Dre bounce, you will not be disappointed. The hos and guns are cocked and ready for the party. For those who want more, there are some fabulous tracks by Bilal, Yero, and Shaunta. And Bubba Sparxxx’s “Bubba Talk” and serious jams from Xzibit and Busta Rhymes make the compilation more than worth your while.
