Antiseen
Drastic / Royalty
TKO
14 songs in 22 minutes. Yay. This release couples hard trash-punks Antiseen’s two 1985 and ‘86 EPs on one disc, warts and moustaches and original cover art and all. Drastic is the oldest of the two, and sees them cooking up a stew of rollicking and thumping Cramps n’ Mötorhead punk. Moving from the sleazy trash of “Absent Minded” to the appropriately titled “Destructo Rock,” this is sick and nasty garage punk with an attitude. Royalty is the better of the two, both darker and more focused. Opening with the doom rawk of “N.C. Royalty,” Antiseen furiously moves via the unadulterated garage of “White Trash Bitch” and the call-to-arms punk of “Ruby, Ruby…” before winding up all gleefully bruised and beaten on “She’s Part of the Scene.” Whew. Pretty good stuff.
