The Sound of the Crowd

And another one’s down

And another one’s gone, another one bites the dust!

…the INDC Journal is another Republican-leaning blog I’d been reading but am now consigning to the dustbin of history. Why? Because of this entry which purports to prove that Kerry has gotten better press than Bush, and that this is, (of course) because of the press’s pro-Kerry and anti-Bush bias.

They don’t help themselves by:

Taking cheap shots at the ever-perceptive Eric Alterman;

Quoting the Mark Halperin memo out of context;

Pretending the fact that CBS were idiots means that all questions about George W. Bush’s National Guard service were answered;

Mis-characterizing the likelyhood of a draft;

and dismissing the explosives story.

(ETA: Oh, and one other thing. The entry in question features a picture of a pig in lipstick. In the comments section someone compares it to Theresa Heinz Kerry. Classy.)

You know, tomorrow’s election day so I’m not going to hint around any more. Anyone who objectively looks at John Kerry and George Bush’s respective records over the past four years and concludes that the latter has gotten 99% of his bad press for any reason than that he is a flaming incompetent is plainly sitting with blindfolds over their eyes and their hands over their ears singing Jessica Simpson songs at the top of their lungs, lest the sound or sight of the truth slide into their ears or cross their vision.

That’s a more run-on sentence than I would usually allow myself, but sometimes that’s how things need to be said. Either that or I’ve just watched one too many Gilmore Girls re-runs.
