Truth to Power

Rudie Can’t Fail

How you get a rude and a reckless?

Don’t you be so crude and a feckless

You been drinking brew for breakfast

Rudie can’t fail</em>

Rudie Can’t Fail, The Clash London Calling

A rudie, or rude boy, is defined in Jamaican/reggae culture thus:

RUDE BOY: a criminal, a hard hearted person, a tough guy

That pretty much sums up Mr. “Noun, Verb and 911” in a nutshell.

Thankfully, this Rudy did fail, ending one of the creepier presidential bids in our lifetime. Rarely has a man so unfit for public office attempted a run, and hopefully he’ll crawl back into the shadows, pimping himself out on speaking tours and sitting on a few boards, where he won’t be able to cause too many deaths.

Because if he had won, we’d be singing a different tune I suspect:

What are we gonna do now?

Taking off his turban, they said, is this man a Jew?

‘Cause they’re working for the clampdown

They put up a poster saying we earn more than you!

When we’re working for the clampdown

We will teach our twisted speech

To the young believers

We will train our blue-eyed men

To be young believers</em>

Can ya tell I picked this up yesterday?
