Swing Like a Metronome

Devil In The Woods

Weak, Cake-like band from California that boasts two folks who can’t sing on key, and meandering, wimpy arrangements. Covers of Townes Van Zandt’s “Loretta” and Sonic Youth’s “Tom Violence” don’t help – this band is a snoozefest. Substituting angst and irony for art never works, and this disc is a perfect example of why.
