Mad Caddies

The Holiday Has Been Cancelled

Fat Wreck Chords

The Mad Caddies pulled together jazz, blues, old-timey swing, and straight-out punk rock for this impromptu EP. The first track, “Falling Down,” is a seedy, smoky kind of jazz ballad. Track two, “Nobody Wins at the Laundromat,” goes to a pop punk kind of sound, as with the third track. “Something’s Wrong at the Playground” talks about school gone wrong, and has interesting lyrics. “Destro” expresses the sentiment of wanting to burn down your hometown, which I’m sure everyone has felt at one time or another. The CD closes with a cover of ABBA’s “S.O.S.” It’s kind of light rock with horns sprinkled through it. All in all, I thought this was a good listen – not really in your face, but interesting nonetheless.
